Apple Murabba (Saib Ka Murabba) Recipe: 500g

Ingredients:

• 500g apples (firm and fresh)
• 500g sugar
• 2 cups water
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 2-3 green cardamoms (crushed)
• 1-inch cinnamon stick (optional)

• ½ tsp black salt (optional, for flavor)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the apples:

   • Wash and peel the apples. Cut them into halves or quarters, removing the seeds.
   • Prick the apples with a fork to help them absorb the syrup.

2. Make the sugar syrup:

   • In a deep pan, add sugar and water. Heat on medium flame until the sugar dissolves completely.

   • Stir occasionally and allow the apples to absorb the syrup while softening.

4. Check the consistency:

   • Cook until the syrup thickens to a one-string consistency and the apples turn glossy and translucent.
   • Add lemon juice and mix well to prevent crystallisation.

5. Final Touch & Storage:

   • Let the murabba cool completely.
   • Store in a clean, airtight glass jar. It stays fresh for weeks when refrigerated.
